“Amar Shonar Bangla, Ami Tomayee Valobashi…”. The land, the rivers and the lives of the common people formed a rich heritage which differences Bangladesh from the neighboring regions. The culture of Bangladesh encompasses elements both old and new. It is the mission of EKTARA group to unite and provide educational awareness to the Bengali community in the D.C. metro area under the umbrella of this rich cultural heritage.

We have done so in the past through multiple successful productions, comprising of traditional Bangladeshi music, dance, live drama, musicals, fashion show and comedy skits. All of our artist and participants were volunteers who live within the DC Metro area.

Over the past 8 years our sold-out productions occurred at George Mason University, Arlington County Public Schools and Alexandria City Public Schools in Virginia, USA. These shows were attended by a record number of Bangladeshi-Americans. Couple of our most notable productions is -”Probashi ITTADI” in 2004 and “Ektara” in 2007. It is our way to say thank you and giving back to our Bengali community.
